Thursday Chess at Red Horn in Cedar Park

There is no fee to attend; however, we ask that you purchase something from the establishment providing our meeting space!

We are a group of mostly adults, but open to all levels.
We play casual games of chess.
Bring a board and clock if possible, but don’t let the lack of either stop you from attending!

Saturday afternoons with the Pease Park Chess Club

Kingsbury St. is the main street leading to Pease Park, and we do meet on the long tables adjacent to Kingsbury.

In person casual meet-up on Saturdays, 1pm – 4:00pm at Pease Park in Austin.

We are a group of mostly adults, but open to all levels and ages.
Bring a board and clock if possible, but don’t let the lack of either stop you from attending!  We are located in the south end of the park, near Kingsbury Street.

There is no fee to attend! In order to participate in the organized event, make an account at https://www.zilkerchess.com/tournaments using your phone number now, or after you arrive at the park.  The organized event will start at 1:30, and usually finish up by 3:15.

You can also play casual games with someone if you don’t want to be in the tournament, or one of the advanced players would be happy to teach you if you’re a beginner wanting to learn!

Saturday Chess at the Austin Chess Club

NOTE: No rated play on 5/24/2025 (Memorial Day weekend) in honor of the Luis Salinas Memorial 80th Annual Texas State and Amateur Championships! The club will be open for casual play.

Doors open at 3:00pm, please follow the signs to our meeting areas.

FIND THE ENTRANCE: Enter the front parking lot of the school via Luther Lane (green line on photo). If you don’t have the gate code, call us at the phone number on the sign. 
Go up the stairs to enter via the door, follow the hallway until you find lit classrooms.
PARKING: Additional parking may be found at:

  • St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot (marked by a blue blotch)
  • Sabina Apartments (underground?) parking, open to the public
