One-day scholastic tournament with rated and unrated sections. Please view the pre-registration list (link above) to check your player's status.

Please note:

In order to be paired for round 1, ALL participants must have their parent or guardian accept the Rackspace Minor Participation Agreement and must have an adult supervisor on site at all times. Participants may submit their MPA to chessregistration@rackspace.com with the student’s name in the subject line. EVERY participant is required to submit an MPA for the 2016 tournament regardless of whether a prior MPA has been submitted in past years. You can download the Team Signature Sheet and the Parent Signature sheet, one of which should be turned in with the MPA, preferably emailed in advance.

Sections:

Rated and unrated sections will be offered. Any player with an existing USCF rating is ineligible for unrated sections. Rated Uxxx section will use the April rating supplement. Eligibility may change April 1.

Please Note: There is a limit of 6 players per team in any one section. Subsequent team registrations will be moved to alternative sections.

Section Descriptions

Beginner [UNRATED]: 1st chess tournament
Novice [UNRATED]: Previous unrated tournament experience
JV [RATED]: Previous tournament experience- will be played and rated under official USCF rules*.
Championship [RATED]: Competitive; extensive tournament experience- will be played and rated under official USCF rules*.

****Rated sections require current USCF Memberships. For Primary and Sprout “JTP's" may be used and will be processed free of charge as needed.****

Time Control: G/30, d5

Bring a clock if you have one. Games going long will have chess clocks placed on them. It's to your advantage to begin with a clock.

Schedule:

This is a tentative schedule of the tournament. Round times may vary slightly from this schedule. Players must arrive early to check-in, turn in their MAP form if not yet submitted, and be in their seats no later than 8am. The tournament will begin with opening announcements at this time.
