Currently over 200 participants!!! A one-day tournament with sections for all ages. The winner of each scholastic section is the 2010 Regional Champion! Medals and trophies to top contenders. Primary JV (Pre-K - 3, U500)
Primary Championship (any Pre-K-3)
Elementary Championship(any Pre-K-5/6*)
Elementary JV (Pre-K - 5/6, U600)
Middle School JV (5/6* - 8/9*, U800)
Middle School Championship (any 5/6*-8/9*)
High School JV (9-12, U1000)
High School Championship (all 9-12)
Open (ages 18 & up)

This tournament is an official Texas Chess Association sanctioned event. TCA has specific guidelines on section placement. If you are unsure of which section you should choose, please read a description of the TCA guidelinesLink will open in a new window.

All JV sections are 5SS, G/30. Any JV section with more than 40 participants will have a 6th round.
All Championship sections are G/45 in rounds 1-3, and G/60 in rounds 4-5.
The Open Section will be 4SS, G/60.

Registration information:

Online registration preferred. Click "Register Now" (above)! Early online deadline is April 28, 2010.
Early entry fee scholastic sections is $18 -- Late entry fee is $30.
Open section early entry fee is $25 -- Late entry fee is $35.
DO NOT MAIL your entry or check after April 25th --we may not receive it in time!

Onsite registration is available at the late price, but 1st round pairing is not possible. Any registration received after 5pm on Friday, April 30th or onsite will receive a1/2 point bye in round 1.Link will open in a new window.

Your entry must be paid in full by appropriate deadline in order to be paired for round 1.

Verifying your entry online on our pre-registration list will help clear up issues in advance! We will make every effort to contact you (by email or phone) if we find a problem with your entry.

Food and Snacks: Food and snacks will be available for sale on site. LME Chess Club will be offering a wide variety of menu items on the concession stand including donuts, vegetarian dishes, ethnic meal deals, pizza, fruits, drinks and more. Plan to order these delicious items on Saturday, May 1st during breakfast, lunch, and for a take home dinner! All proceeds will benefit the LME Chess Club. Remember, pick up your own trash and clean up your own spills! No smoking, no alcohol.
