NO residency restrictions for adults! This tournament is held in conjunction with the Region VI Scholastic Championships. Only adults (18 and up) eligible to participate. Exception: all ages from outside of the Region VI area may attend. Please review the Round Times!Link will open in a new window. Please refer to these round times when requesting byes.

Tournament Details

  • Open Chess tournament for adults living within the Region VI boundaries and players of any age residing outside those boundaries.
  • Four Rounds (Swiss System)
  • Time Control: Rounds 1-2 G/45, d5, Rounds 3-4 G/60, d5
  • Round Times: Round 1- 9:15, Round - 11:00, Round 3- 1:00, Round 4- 3:20
  • Bring your own clock, if possible. Boards & sets are provided.
  • One half-point bye permitted if requested before the START of round 2.

Eligibility

  • Valid USCF membership (thru 02/28/2019)
  • NO age restrictions for players living outside of the Region VI boundaries.
  • May NOT be an Elementary, Middle School or High School student who resides in Region VI. If still attending school, please register for the Region VI Scholastic ChampionshipsLink will open in a new window!
  • College students ok.
  • Unrated players ok.

  • Playing room will be separated from the Region VI Scholastic event.

  • $25 entry fee.

More Details

  • Players need NO connection to the scholastic event held concurrently.
  • Any registered player for this event who has relatives playing in the Region VI Scholastic Tournament will automatically be eligible for the Parent/Child Awards.
  • Parent/Child scores combine the parent's score (or other relative) with the highest score of children (or other relatives) participating in the Region VI Scholastic Tournament.
  • Parent/Child Trophies will be awarded at the close of both events.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded for individual performances in the Adult Tournament

  • Food and Snacks: Food and snacks will be available for sale on site.
