2012 Region VI Scholastic Championships

A one-day tournament with sections for all ages. The winner of each championship section is the 2012 Regional Champion! Medals and trophies to top contenders in each section. Team trophies to top Primary, Elementary, Middle School, and High School teams across similar sections. Four teams allowed per school; however, teams registering separately will be paired against one another. Parent-Child trophies for those with relatives participating in the Adult tournament onsite. Participants must be USCF members.

Primary JV (Pre-K - 3, U400)
K-1 (any K-1)
Elementary Championship(any Pre-K-5/6*)
Elementary JV (Pre-K - 5/6*, U600)
Elementary Novice (Pre-K - 5/6*, U200)
Middle School Championship (any 5/6*-8/9*)
Middle School JV (5/6* - 8/9*, U800)
High School Championship (all 9-12)
High School JV (9-12, U1000)

This tournament is an official Texas Chess Association sanctioned event. TCA has specific guidelines on section placement. If you are unsure of which section you should choose, please read a description of the TCA guidelinesLink will open in a new window.

Schedule:

All JV sections are 5SS, G/30. Any JV section with more than 40 participants will have a 6th round.
All Championship sections are G/45 in rounds 1-3, and G/60 in rounds 4-5.
The organizer reserves the right to combine high school and/or middle school sections if participation in any one section is less than 15 players.

Registration information:

Online registration preferred. Click "Register Now" (above)! Early online deadline is April 18, 2012.
Early entry fee scholastic sections is $20 -- Late entry fee is $30.
DO NOT MAIL your entry or check after April 14th --we may not receive it in time!

Onsite registration is available at the late price, but 1st round pairing is not possible. Any registration received after 9am on Friday, April 20th or onsite will receive a1/2 point bye in round 1.Link will open in a new window.

Your entry must be paid in full by appropriate deadline in order to be paired for round 1. If you request to pay onsite, you will not be paired for round 1.

Verifying your entry online on our pre-registration list will help clear up issues in advance! We will make every effort to contact you (by email or phone) if we find a problem with your entry.

Food and Snacks: Food and snacks will be available for sale on site. LME Chess Club will be offering a variety of menu items on the concession stand. All proceeds will benefit the LME Chess Club. Remember, pick up your own trash and clean up your own spills! No smoking, no alcohol.
